Khao Sam Muk - the Monkey Mountain in Chonburi province is a good day trip from many areas nearby or even as far away as Bangkok.
The macaque monkey population is a great attraction for local visitors and tourists.
But the best news for tourists is that it's free to enter with no charges or entrance fee.
The mountain is well known for the monkeys which are happy to be fed bananas and all manner of fruit.
Their favourite food is available from the many vendors at the entrance and at the top of the mountain.
Khaow Sam Muk is in the province of Chonburi, near Bang Saen Beach and is easy to get to from most places in east Thailand and is in easy reach of Bangkok.
It's about one hour from Bangkok centre and only a few minutes drive from Bang Saen or nearby Sriracha.
The Monkey Mountain is open to the public 24 hours a day.
But of course, the daylight hours are better because the monkeys tend to hide in the woodlands during the night time (e.g. back to their place of living).
Khaow Sam Muk is good for family and kids in particular enjoy feeding the monkeys.
