Wongamat Beach North Pattaya

Wong Amat is a relatively deserted beach at times but it is bound to develop as the Wongamat area upgrades. It is one of Pattaya's 'hidden' beaches - or so it seems.

However, with the new hotels and resorts bordering the beach, this will all change soon. It is in an area that is undergoing substantial development by way of accommodation. Make the most of it now.

How to Get to the Beach at Wongamat?

Wong Amat beach is about 3 km long - a gentle curve of a beach situated between Naklua Beach to the north and Pattaya Beach to the south.

Two things greatly in favour - is that Wong Amat beach does not have the invasive water sports such as in Pattaya's other main beaches - nor will you be pestered as much by the 'walk up and down' vendors of food, trinkets, massage, and tattoos.

There are some pleasant little cameos if you are prepared to walk a little.

For instance, the end nearest to Pattaya has some lovely outcrops of smooth rocks - ideal for sitting and contemplating life, or simply watching the waves brushing over.

Some local fishermen are also active in this area.

You can see them disentangling their catch from their nets, and wonder at the same time "How on earth do they make it pay?"

Deck chairs are available - as is food at a few restaurants along the beach. There is not a cloud of umbrellas (at the moment) but watch this space!

Wong Amat Beach is to the north of Pattaya, and normally reached from Naklua, down either Soi 16 or Soi 18 off Naklua main road.
