"I learned a lot, felt safe and most importantly had a lot of fun"
I had a great time with Private Scuba Diving. Steve’s professionalism and patience made my first discovery dive a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Although it was only my first time to Scuba dive, I learned a lot, felt safe and most importantly had a lot of fun. Thanks again Steve, for opening my eyes to a brand new world! I will definitely be back for more Scuba Diving in Pattaya.

"Steve finds the right balance between safety and fun"
I contacted Steve when I was intensively looking for an instructor to pass my EFR and Rescue diver courses in Pattaya. I really appreciated his friendly speech and open attitude and decided to start with him. I really enjoy the courses and the dives I have been experiencing so far, being now in the middle of my Divemaster program. What I appreciate the most with Steve is that he finds the right balance between safety and fun which makes learning easy and really interesting. Furthermore, his demanding but also very flexible approach enhances significantly my diving experience, especially when "hands-on" opportunities with other instructors and proper students are given. I would be very grateful and proud to assist him as certified Divemaster if opportunity would occur in the future.

"Diving with Vicky in Pattaya"
I've been diving with Vicky in Pattaya at the island called Koh Rin. At a depth of 12 meters, we saw many hard & soft corals such as Table Coral, Staghorn Coral and Feather Stars and the Fishes that thrive here include Angel Fish, Damsel Fish and Butterfly Fish.
The second dive was to a small pinnacle called North Rock which has lots of corals and fish such as Baraccuda, Puffer Fish, Moray Eels and Cuttle Fish.
It was a good day and the service was nice and friendly.

"(Scuba Cop) balance of enjoyable, yet thorough teaching"
Shipwrecks in Pattaya are plentiful and a great place to do the PADI Wreck Specialist Course. We concentrated our course on the wrecks of the HTMS Kut & HTMS Kram – these are sister ships sunk on purpose by the Thai Navy for the enjoyment of scuba divers! Having already completed wreck dives as part of our advanced course – we wanted more!
Our first dive was to survey the wreck using an underwater slate to map out points of interest, possible hazards and potential penetration points. Back on board, we transferred all the information from our slates to complete a detailed map of the wreck and discussed with Steve aka Scuba Cop our findings and potential penetration points. In anticipation for the next dive we practiced reeling off, tying off line skills on board the dive boat.
Our next dive we explored the wreck further, this time taking the lead and navigating scuba cop to various points of interest, including a very playful huge resident turtle on the bow of the ship we had discovered previously. We practised reeling off from the side of the wreck without penetration in anticipation for the following dive before navigating our way back to the buoy line. On the boat back from day 1, we enjoyed a few beers with Scuba Cop and talked through our knowledge reviews and our experiences from the two dives.
So day two - the big one! We held the dive brief (with a little help from Scuba Cop) we discussed and planned our penetration dive. Scuba Cop spent time explaining the best techniques for penetrating the wreck and drilled into us the hazards and dangers of entering a wreck. Once down the buoy line we used our maps and compasses and navigated ourselves to the penetration point. We then had a final practice of our line skills on the outside of the wreck before entering for the first time. This was far the best part of the course as entering the wreck opens up a whole new world! We took it in turns entering the wreck, tying off and following the lines until scuba cop was confident in our ability. We finished the dive with a swim thru (very cool) towards the stern of the wreck and then headed back to the buoy line – buzzing about our new qualification!
By then, we were hooked on wreck diving and mentioned to scuba cop how amazing it would be to dive the wreck at night. As you can imagine night diving in Pattaya is not so popular! However Scuba Cop went out his way to arrange this for us and that same evening we were back out on the boat on the way to our first shipwreck night dive. Of course no penetration at night, but armed with our torches we explored the wreck and met the creatures of the night! Diving a shipwreck at night was quite a spooky experience but absolute quality. Can’t wait to do this again!
All in all - the wreck specialist was one of our favourite PADI courses - so much fun. We had a great time diving the wrecks and scuba cop’s balance of enjoyable, yet thorough teaching (hence scuba cop!) made it a great couple of days diving. Looking forward to the next time already – Cheers Steve!

"Steve made the Rescue Course a lot of serious Fun !"
I contacted Steve from Italy to book my PADI Rescue Diver Course in Pattaya. He was very prompt with his replies, and added lots of useful information about Pattaya & Thailand that helped me to decide that I'd made the right choice with Private Scuba.
He scheduled the two courses of Rescue Diver & Emergency First Response CPR Course around the 2010 New Year festivities and I'm pleased to say that the flexibility and personal service was first class.
After the Classroom and Pool sessions, we had a great day out diving on the Dive Boat and he also squeezed in a Wreck Dive in Pattaya around the Rescue Scenarios. The Pattaya Wreck Dive was a fantastic experience and I would recommend Private Scuba to anyone who's thinking about a PADI Scuba Course in Pattaya.
Thanks for a superb diving experience,

"We had a great time Private Scuba Diving in Pattaya"
We were taking a holiday in Pattaya and we decided to go scuba diving. We're certified divers so we were looking for some fun diving daytrips to the islands in Pattaya.
We had two nice dives with the pleasant company of Thai Dive instructor Vicky. We saw some nice corals, a bamboo shark and a stingray. The boat trip was very relaxing with good space and a friendly atmosphere.
Thanks to Vicky and the Team

"ขอบคุณทีมงาน Private Scuba มากๆค่ะ ทั้งพี่วิกกี้และคุณ Steve"

“Steve gave me such confidence that I wanted to pursue the Advanced Open Water without any doubt”.
My concern before the diving was safety. I wanted to feel as comfortable as one possibly can with all the safety aspects. Steve showed such high professional attitude and focused on every detail throughout the teaching that he built up an enormous trust, and combined with his great and kind personality he made the whole diving experience absolutely outstanding. In addition I want to congratulate Steve for his great choice of diving team, boat, and staff. Steves’ whole organisation and the logistics around the diving also made the trip very enjoyable.
Having had the privilege of Steve by my side, both in and out of water, during my first diving week he made it all into one of the most memorable, exciting and fun things I have done… and I will never stop diving!
Thank you very much Steve

"I contact with Private Scuba because I wanted to do it in Spanish", but finally I did it in English, ha ha.
Steve: I contact with him because he talks some spanish, he's a nice guy and also he arranged me a room where to stay for a good price.
Vicky (aka Rewadee): She have been my mum this 3 days (means instructor), how can I describe her?... Dr. Yekill and Mr Hide!
Outside water: She is really talkative wich is not a problem coz I use to talk so much and we spend many time reaching the diving sites (so it's not a defect, ok Vicky?), friendly, warm, active, easygoing, naugthy and SEXY! ha ha ha
Under water: She become extremely calm, every movement is so sweet and slow, wich it was a lil bit stressing at the begining for me, but have to do it, to make me do the things slow down and properly.
Private Scuba & Vicky made my course a lot of Fun (thanks).

"Diving with Steve and his team at Private Scuba was a real delight"
When I arrived in Thailand from Europe, there was little else on my mind other than to try Scuba Diving. Having done my research, I knew there were some great shipwrecks to be seen near to the islands of Pattaya, but first I needed to become familiar with the basic safety of Scuba Diving.
From my first dive to completing the Advanced Open Water, Steve made the experience both safe, thorough and great fun. The personal attention made my first diving experience in to a passion that I will always carry with me.
Thanks a million, Steve.

"Private Scuba have a fun and enthusiastic team"
I checked out several Scuba Diving companies online before I arrived in Thailand, and after several e-mail exchanges with Steve I knew I had the confidence to book my Padi course with him. Private Scuba have a fun and enthusiastic team, and their attention to detail is just what you would expect from Professionals with their extensive experience.
Vicky, their Thai Scuba Instructor, was a star and her cheery attitude helped to ensure I enjoyed all 3 days of the course, and remember everything I needed to know! Her one on one tuition was exemplary.
Steve was even able to give me pointers about Pattaya so that my friends and I could get the most out of our time on holiday. I would recommend Private Scuba to anyone wanting to learn more about Diving in Thailand.

"Vicky made my scuba course a lot of Fun!"
I began my scuba diving course in Dubai with PADI's eLearning facility. Having completed all of the knowledge development at my own pace and at my leisure, it was great to arrive in Pattaya knowing that I could spend most of my holiday time enjoying the 'fun' part in the water.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that my instructor was a cheery Thai girl who is fully qualified and very experienced.
It took me three days to complete my course, and Vicky made it an absolute joy whilst keeping my focus on the safety aspects of this great sport.
A very warm thankyou to Vicky and the team at Private-Scuba.com

"I took a private Gas Blender course with Steve" and was thoroughly impressed with his professional attitude and adherance to the PADI system. He made the course easy and fun, it was a pleasure to train with him. I have since been fortunate to staff an instructor course with him and have found that he carries this attitude over to all levels of training.
I would never hesitate to recommend Steve and his team to anyone who is looking for integrity and enjoyment from his scuba courses.
Good luck for the future Steve.

"Steve taught me and Sue to dive in Pattaya" in 2006. We successfully completed our Padi Open Water Diver course, and we've never looked back since. We fully appreciated the care and attention that Steve excels in, and we've been back on holiday twice to dive with his team again. The confidence and knowledge that we gained has allowed us to enjoy diving in some of the best locations in the world, including the Caribbean and the Maldives. Thanks Steve, we've become diving friends for ever !

"If it wasn't for Steve giving up his extra time" outside the course hours, I wouldn't be an instructor now.
Thanks for all the help & LOTS of patience that helped me get 100% in my theory & nearly 5.0 all the way!
I learnt more from Steve during my IDC than I have during the rest of my dive training, So one BIG thank you!!!

“Steve is the most patient", caring and professional Master Instructor.
His attention to the smallest details is what makes him stand out from other instructors, and 'going the extra mile' is something that he does without even thinking.

"I did my IDC in 2003 and Steve was my Staff instructor". I was blessed with him for all 10 days. He made sure I was sharp in the pool and perfect in the classroom.
I never quite thanked Steve for all the help that I got from him, but be sure that if Steve hadn’t been there I wouldn’t have passed the I.E. Thanks a million Steve !

"I had the privilege of working with Steve" in the Mediterranean in the summer of 2008. Having recently completed my Padi IDC in Australia, I was a typical 'green' instructor.
Steve was my mentor !
His integrity and dive ethics were the best lessons that I could of had from a scuba trainer.
With his guidance and wisdom, I learnt how to teach real students and how to make diving safe while keeping it fun.
His patience and meticulous attention to every detail was an invaluable lesson for me to learn from a Padi master Instructor with more than fifteen years experience.
We became the best of friends and still keep in touch even though we are miles apart.
Thanks for your help and advice Steve, I look forward to diving with your team again very soon.

"IDC and Specialty Instructor courses with Master Instructor Steve Spruce" and Platinum Course Director Björn Täckman.
Location: Dive Asia 5 star CDC Dive Centre, Kata Beach, Phuket, Thailand.
If you want to be maximally prepared for your PADI I.E. and have the complete range of padi specialty instructor and EFR instructor courses, be prepared to be challenged at every level, but if you put in the effort - these guys will make sure your learning curve is steep and rising throughout the PADI instructor development (IDC), and beyond! And talking about specialties – the most fun specialty you probably ever would like to teach is the DPV-specialty (Diver Propulsion Vehicle). Apart from being very handy in getting you fast to your wreck (or whatever UW destination you’re heading for) while saving air - barrel-rolling, looping and 360’ies underwater is as fun as it sounds! Steve does more than agree, and he is the ideal “wing-man” for your course dives.

"I'm sending my thanks & gratitude for all your help during my IDC."
Without it, I know I would not have gotten through the Open Water section and certainly not with a score of 5.0 & 4.8 in the padi instructor exam (IE). Your ability to assess our weak points, and mostly concentrate on those areas, while still covering the whole course, was extremely impressive.
One last Thank you for the extra time you gave, outside of the course hours to help all of us with our problem areas. (I can still tie the bowline with my eyes closed).
All the best for the future.

"Steve got me hooked on diving" in Calpe, Spain in Summer 2003 and I have  never looked back’. We stayed in touch and then my girlfriend and I had a fantastic Christmas and New Year trip in Thailand where Steve looked after us impeccably and he got us both through our PADI Advanced Diver course and became a close friend. He goes the extra mile to ensure a personal service.
