CPR and First Aid are life saving skills! Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) teaches how to deal with emergencies that are immediately life threatening, while EFR Secondary Care (First Aid) covers injuries and illnesses that are less life threatening or when the local EMS is unavailable or delayed.

What is required before I start my Emergency First Response Instructor Training ?
You should have successfully completed a sanctioned course in adult and child/infant CPR and basic first aid within the past 24 months (emergency first response)
(minimum age: 18 years)

What will I learn ?
The goals and performance requirements of the EFR Instructor Course are covered in the Primary Care, Secondary Care and Care for Children courses and include;

  • how to structure learning
  • the requirements of performance-based training
  • your role as the instructor in the learning environment
  • how to motivate and evaluate student's knowledge
  • presenting course content effectively
  • developing students' hands-on skills practice sessions
  • how to present an effective scenario-based learning experience

How long is the EFR Instructor course ?
Like PADI courses, the Emergency First Response Instructor course is performance based, though the 14 hours of training can usually be achieved in less than two full days.

  • Your own dedicated private EFR Instructor Trainer

  • Optional Automated External Defibrillator (AED) operating skills

Do I need any extra study materials or CPR/First Aid equipment ?
The study materials required for the course are excluded from the price* but the EFR Instructor crewpack is available from the Dive Shop, and includes all of the training materials that are required for the Emergency First Response Instructor Course.
