Nitrox Dives - The Benefits:
Some Nitrox divers believe that they feel less tired after the dive, when using enriched air scuba tanks.
However, the primary benefit is the substantially 'longer' bottom time for dives made within the limits of recreational scuba diving. For example: The 'no decompression limit' for a dive made to a depth of 22 meters is 37 minutes. If the diver uses a nitrox tank filled with one of the most popular nitrox mixes of EANx36%, his dive time can be extended up to 70 minutes. This extended 'bottom time' is particularly beneficial when wreck diving, deep diving and taking underwater photographs.

Wreck Diving - Because wrecks tend to be in deep water, diving with enriched air nitrox can extend the divers' dive time which allows the diver to explore much more of the shipwreck.

Deep Diving - Diving deep shortens the dive time. Deep dives made with enriched air nitrox allow longer dives by reducing the amount of nitrogen being absorbed by the body tissues.

Digital Underwater Photographer - Photographers like to make repetitive dives so they can maximise the number of photographs taken underwater. By reducing the amount of residual nitrogen accumulated, Nitrox diving allows significantly longer repetitive dives.

PADI Master Scuba Diver - The PADI Enriched Air Diver specialty course can be credited towards the highest rating in recreational diving, the Master Scuba Diver.
