Being so close to the equator, Thailand sunsets are stunning, but brief. The dark sky arrives around 18.30 and that's the time when divers explore night diving in Pattaya. It may be a familiar daytime dive site, but as darkness falls, the reef takes on a new perspective at night. Under the glow of your dive light, the 'critters' become active and it feels like a whole new world.

PADI Night Diver course - prerequisites:
PADI Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another organisation)
(minimum age: 12 years old)

Night Diver - Learning Materials:

Night Dives - The Benefits:
Diving at night, or in limited visibility, brings new challenges for divers. New diving skills needed would include buoyancy control, underwater navigation and fish identification. But the rewards of night diving are very different from your favourite daylight dive sight. Some of the nocturnal creatures more active at night, and not normally seen in the bright sunshine would be Octopus, Lobster, Crab, Shrimps, Moray Eels and Sharks.

Underwater Navigator - Using Natural Navigation and an Underwater Compass on a night dive, will help the diver to find entry and exit points, and strong navigation skills are important for all scuba dives.
