Multilevel diving is the preferred way to dive by most divers', because it maximises the dive time. Learn how to extend the 'bottom time' of the dive by gaining credit for a slower nitrogen absorption as the diver ascends to a shallower depth. Even without a dive computer, making multilevel dives allows for more exploration of the dive site, and it's the method of diving that is used by dive computers and the new PADI eRDP ML (electronic Recreational Dive Planner for multilevel diving).

PADI Multilevel Diver course - prerequisites:
PADI Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another organisation)

Multilevel Diver - Learning Materials:
The PADI eRDPML is not included in the price*. The electronic recreational dive planner for multilevel diving is a great tool for planning multiple dives with multiple levels and it works in a similar way to a dive computer, however it should not be taken underwater. The eRDP ML and affordable dive computers are available from the Dive Center.

Multilevel Dives - The Benefits:
Multilevel diving can extend the dive time and it's the recommended method of diving for all dives. Conducting multilevel dives on a deep dive or a wreck dive is beneficial to the diver, and if it's combined with nitrox, it will allow the maximum time to explore the dive site.

Deep Diving - When planning to make a deep dive, it's better to use multilevel techniques to reduce the nitrogen absorption and to extend the dive time. The PADI eRDP ML and/or dive computers are valuable items of scuba gear to have when planning Deep Dives, and they can be purchased from the dive shop.

Wreck Diving - Because wrecks tend to be in deep water, diving with a multilevel dive profile can extend the divers' dive time which allows the diver to explore much more of the shipwreck.

Nitrox Diver - Nitrox Diving (enriched air nitrox) gives more no decompression dive time, allowing the diver to stay longer underwater, especially on repetitive dives. By having an increased amount of Oxygen and less Nitrogen, scuba divers can benefit from a longer dive time exploring the dive site.

PADI Master Scuba Diver - The PADI Multilevel Diver specialty course can be credited towards the highest rating in recreational diving, the Master Scuba Diver.
