The Automated External Defibrillator course represents entry-level training to recognise the warning signs of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and administer first aid using Basic Life Support techniques. Automated External Defibrillator's can extend the window of opportunity, while rescuers activate the local emergency medical services, (EMS) and/or arrange for evacuation to the nearest appropriate medical facility. According to DAN (Divers Alert Network) the average age for scuba diving fatalities is gradually increasing (42 years old). Heart disease is a common problem that we should not ignore. Holiday scuba diving is often done from remote locations that may be some distance from emergency medical help, so it's important to prepare for every emergency.

Automated External Defibrillator Course (one day) - prerequisites;
Though suited for Scuba Divers, this course has no prerequisites and doesn’t include Dives, which means it is equally applicable to those who are around Divers – Boat Crew, Non-diving Buddies, Lifeguards, and Shore Staff. You don’t need any previous CPR or First Aid training to take the course.

The training may include CPR, AED and First Aid, for medical emergencies that children face, preventing common injuries and illnesses in children, and how the emotional aspect of caring for children is different than adults.

Emergency Oxygen Provider - Providing emergency oxygen in the event of a diving accident may be crucial for a positive outcome.
This PADI specialty course develops the rescuers' techniques in equipment set up, providing oxygen to a breathing/non-breathing diver, and service and maintenance of the emergency oxygen equipment.
